The Association of Netherlands Municipalities (VNG) is the interest group and knowledge platform for all Dutch municipalities. The aim of the VNG is to unite the strengths of municipalities and act collectively in the interest of local government and its residents. We do this by exerting influence at the national level and placing societal challenges at the center. Together, we ensure a strong and future-proof local government.

The VNG’s main tasks are facilitating and delivering knowledge sharing, advocacy, and services. These three pillars form the foundation of our association. With these pillars as a base, the VNG stands ready to support and strengthen municipalities.
