Weapons: why necessary?
Safety professionals
Police, defense and other law enforcement officers use weapons to protect themselves and the public. In situations involving escalating violence or serious incidents, they are indispensable. Without reliable equipment, the risk of injury or escalation increases.
Enforcement of the law
Weapons enable the effective exercise of the state’s legal monopoly on the use of force. They are needed in cases of organized crime, terrorism or violent demonstrations. This is how public order and the rule of law are maintained.
Graduated Use of Force
In many situations, less intrusive means are sufficient. Intermediate solutions such as pepperball launchers and other non-lethal options allow for proportionate deployment and help reduce risks for both civilians and professionals.
Visiting the Restricted Area?
The Restricted Area is open exclusively to authorized representatives of weapon-carrying government agencies and recognized security organizations.
Would you like to visit this Restricted Area during eRIC 2026? If so, please fill out the form to the right. Please note that a valid government identification card is required for access to the Restricted Area.
